The key benefits are:
All-Bonded electrical connections eliminate the corrosion
and vibration problems associated with riveted connections
Lowest lifecycle cost due to high durability and reliability
Up to 50% weight reduction over standard metal probes
       No fatigue cracking

The hottest aircraft use Composite probes from LMS.
Bell 412 Helicopter
RAH-66 Comanche
AH-64 Apache
UH-60 Black Hawk
CH47D
Bell AH-1 Cobra
Bell UH-1 Huey
Eclipse 500 Jet
Aerospatiale 330
A-MH-6M Little Bird
Amphibious Albatross
Nascar Racing Car
All electrical connections are bonded which eliminates the corrosion problems associated with riveted metal probe contacts. This is especially important in today's high sulfur fuels. No more mysterious readings, drifting or intermittent failures. The grounded outer tube design also provides excellent immunity to EMI.

Composite probes will not "work harden" like metal probes so there is no fatigue cracking. The composite probes are typically 50% of the weight of metal probes and are extremely durable. For example, a 38" probe weighs less than 10 ounces. For further details on this topic read LMS Graphite Composite Probes vs. Metal Probes.

The tank geometry can be incorporated into profiled probes and/or into electronic memory providing complete flexibility in your application. LMS provides A.C. or D.C. signaling from the fuel sensor to the signal conditioner.    D.C. signaling systems provide electronic full height mass compensation with minimal in-tank electronics.

LMS offers Comprehensive Fuel Gauging System Design. Custom probes can be designed for any application. From the smallest to the largest application, LMS composite probes are the highest performance and lowest lifecycle cost probes available.
